Castletown House Farmhouse
Castletown House is a triple award-winning, restored 18th century property, situated on a working farm within walking distance of the picturesque village of Donaghmore – setting for the film ‘All Things Bright And Beautiful’ which included stars such as Gabriel Byrne, Tom Wilkinson, Ciaran Fitzgerald and Kevin McNally.
The property is situated by the Slieve Bloom Mountains, providing a beautiful, peaceful setting for your stay. The house itself was built in 1714. It is set in a stunning rural area with the river Erkina bounding the southern end of the farm. The house and farm were purchased in 1960, and modernised in 1979. The Farm Guesthouse opened in 1980.
The owners insist that guests truly relax and make themselves at home while staying at the family-friendly property. With lots of places to explore in the local area, plus many areas in which guests can hike, walk and cycle, Castletown House will provide a very memorable stay.
